directory as well

preparing images for the web below
5. type any information you wish on the page...
you can go to "insert" to insert links, images,
table etc.

start over or
“undo.”
To make links, either darken down running
mouse over text
or click on an image and go to "insert"...."link"
“image properties” (left mouse button) for
outline, allignment
etc.
6. you must save the file in order for changes to be seen in your
browser...

Preparing
an image for the web
1. Images for the web must be in .jpg or .gif format.
2. open an image in any photo program...
a. you can take photos with a regular camera
and request a cd for
digital photos or
use a digital camera. If huge photos come to me,
I will resize them
appropriately for the web.
b. open photos, save as a .jpg or .gif (compressed
files)
1. go to save
as...choose .jpg.... save “yourpaintingtitle.jpg”
2. Thumbnails
usually run between 10k to 15k...
i.e. 1.5” to 2” largest dimensionn
(good idea to keep them small esp
if there are a lot of images on the page...
loads much faster and
surfers can look at detail (link) if desired
3. Larger jpgs...(linked from thumbnails)
usually between 400 to 600k
(approx 6” to 7” largest dimension)
4. to change the size of your jpg... go to image size
(make certain “constrain proportions” is “on”)
and
save in the /GAC subdirectory on your drive
for use in your html pages
