Thursday July 29,

Nancy Stoner's beautiful farm which is three quarters of a mile west of Ruffdale.

In case you need to check on the accuracy of your location while getting there call Nancy Stoner at 724-696-4306.

If you want to share a ride be at the Center by 9:15 am. The farm has a  beautiful barn, fields and vistas.

Bonus...... Fresh corn and tomatoes are for sale.

(Wednesday I'm taking a trip to the Stoner Farm to verify these directions. So keep tuned!)

There is 1. a shorter, more difficult route and 2. a little longer, simpler route.

1. Go through Youngwood Rte 119.  Stay on that road (don't take exits to  rte 66 or 119 S or Rte 76 turnpike)

You will  be on Rte 70 briefly, and turning off at the second  (NewStanton) Exit which is 57A Hunker Exit..  You'll be passing the Cracker Barrel restaurant to your left. This takes you through Hunker. It is Buttermore Road .

After several miles you pass under a railroad trestle. After the trestle take the second road to the right which is Thompson Hollow Rd. (You'll see an old Insulbrick house) The road very soon forms a Y. Take the left part of the Y. That is called Race Track Road.

After several miles that road will cross Rte 31 and the barn will be right there. The road at that point becomes Stoner Road, not Racetrack Rd.

2. You will take Rte 119 through Youngwood and take 119 S. toward Connellsville. Exit at the Rte 31 Mt Pleasant Exit. After exiting, bear right (West) toward Ruffsdale. Rte 31 will take you through Tarrs and Ruffsdale. After leaving Ruffsdale about a half mile take the first left onto Stoner Rd. The farm is right there.

Next Thursday, Twin Lakes will be the destination.
