Plein Air - Thursday Aug 25

Last year in June the group painted at Barbara and George Martin's
Pleasure Acres Farm  at 107 Hornock Dr near new Alexandria.
Betsy has had requests from our group to go there again and the
Martins will be welcoming us there this Thursday Aug 25.
I believe Doreen and some from her oil class will be joining us there.
Inspiration is at every turn. There are oodles of horses, cats, barns,
buildings, an equipment and buggy museum, a picnic pavilion and a
small quaint  covered bridge.
This about about 8 miles from Greensburg.

By the way, just in case of a few rain drops there are lots of places
to duck in.

If you are going there from Greensburg, this is the way Betsy
recommends.

From the Center go to Rte 119 N. toward New Alexandria. (I explained
the last time we went out,  how to get on Rte 119 N.)
Just go on Rte 119 into the village of Crabtree. Shortly you'll see
a flashing yellow traffic light. At that  intersection by the Post
Office
you will turn left onto Rizzo Rd.,going past Rizzo's Malabar Inn
Restaurant.( From Rizzo's it is 3 miles to Martins)
Very shortly you'll come to a T.  Turn right onto Bardines Rd, passing
the Bardines Country Smokehouse. At the next T in the road, turn right
again. That is onto Tucker Rd.
It's a winding rural road going past Zundel's Farm. After a mile or so
you will come to a place where Kemp Road comes in from your right,
joining Tucker Rd.
There you'll see a small green road sign that says Covered Bridge
Grove and just past that, Hornock Dr will turn off to the right ,
uphill. You will see a maroon- trimmed gray house and building.
The barn is just beyond that on Hornock Dr.

Those who want, can come on Rte 22. Hornock is very close to 22.
On Rte 22 about 2 miles west of New Alexandria there is a major
intersection with a traffic light with large signs directing you to
Hornock Dr. From the West you'll turn right and from the East you'll
turn left. Keep to the left as you start out on Hornock , then bear
right where the sign says "no outlet". Just a short distance is
Martins' big barn.

If you wish to share a ride or follow me,  come to the Center around
9:15.
